Meet the Confetti Pattern Testers
Share
I've been so stoked with the group of pattern testers for Confetti! One of the best parts of having a group of testers is seeing their fabric picks and how the pattern can come out looking so different depending on what colors and prints are chosen.
Meet the awesome quilt pattern testers!

I live in Maryland. I come from a long line of sewists and fell in love with quilting as a teenager. I have been pattern testing for over 5 years and learn so much with every new quilt I make.
Fabric Selections: Riley Blake First Blooms

I'm Michelle, I live in Portland, OR and have been making quilts for 15 years. I started quilting to be able to give something handmade to friends for new babies. I'm obsessed with my rescue dog, Remi, and also like to cook, I love reading, and documentaries are my fave.
Fabric Selections: I used all blues and purples from my stash!
Fabric Inspiration: Wintery but lively and not the normal holiday vibe.
Thoughts on Confetti: I really loved planning our all the different combos of HSTs, and strip piecing is always so satisfying. The quilt top came together fast and it looks so good with every combo of fabrics I've seen so far from the other testers.

I live in Michigan's Irish Hills in the south central part of the state. I learned how to sew in the late 70s in high school, and was taught by a nun, who was excellent at her craft. For years, I only made clothes, but started making quilts about 15 years ago. Most of my sewing focus is on quilts but I also do a lot of machine embroidery. I also like to make bags, ornaments, hot pads, and table runners and really want to get back into making clothes.
Fabric Selections: Most of the fabric I used for Confetti came from my extensive stash and I can't begin know who designed any one of the 16 fabrics used. I backed the quilt with a bed sheet that I got from a resale shop.
Fabric Inspiration: In my mind, I had sea glass for a colorway, hence the blues and greens.
Thoughts on Confetti: This was a fun pattern, and the possibilities are endless as we have seen with each testers' finished product. What I have come to really appreciate about Bliss Quilt Co's patterns is she takes the time to scale the various sizes; not just by adding more rows and columns but by actually resizing the blocks. Most quilt designers do not take the time to do this.

I'm a SAHM who loves to sew and quilt during my free time. Pattern testing has become my preferred way of having fun, recharging, and giving purpose to my favorite creative outlet.
Fabric Inspiration: I challenged myself to use all the warm colors in my fabric stash that I use infrequently. This was a fun and motivating way of trying something new. It definitely paid off!
Thoughts on Confetti: The variations of this quilt pattern are endless, from themed quilts to scrappy, this pattern will look amazing with any fabrics that you choose!

Hello from Wisconsin. I’m an avid quilter with over 30 years of experience — from teaching to custom quilting to pattern testing — I’ve pretty much done it all. I love anything relating to quilting. And, I also love to bake. I hope to incorporate my love of baking into my quilting world someday.
Fabric Selections: I chose a wonderful fat quarter bundle of Kona purples from my stash for my half square triangle blocks. The four patch blocks were coordinating purples and a green solid.
Fabric Inspiration: A Kaffe floral print became the focus of the rest of the quilt as it tied together all of the purples and green.
Thoughts on Confetti: The pattern is really very straight forward and simple in construction. The main key is to stay organized with color placement and block orientation. The sheet with block labels/orientation came in especially handy.

I am a Stay At Home Momma to four kiddos living in Kansas. I run a longarm business out of our basement and have the opportunity to quilt for people all over the country. I’ve been sewing for almost 7 years and truly believe I’ll never stop!
Fabric Selections: I went to my favorite LQS “Plain Jane’s & Co” and just started picking out reds, yellows and golds for my KC Chiefs inspired quilt.
Fabric Inspiration: This quilt is for my son’s 8th Birthday on the 22nd. He is ALL about football so that is the inspiration.
Thoughts on Confetti: This would be a great pattern for beginners! You get practice making four patches and even more practice trimming HSTS!
If you make the Confetti quilt and send it my way for longarming use code CONFETTI20 on your form for 20% off quilting!

Hi! I'm Jodie. Owner of Boo Bun Quilt Co and based in St. George UT, though we will hopefully be relocating to the Midwest next year. I grew up sewing and quilting with my Mom and Grandma, but only picked it back up as a hobby three years ago. I started testing patterns in May of this year and fell in love with the process.

Have been testing for three years and sewing for 12 years living in the Midwest.
Fabric Selections: Kona solids by Robert Kaufman, qt fabrics, Deb Strain
Fabric Inspiration: Ombre blues with a pop of yellow reminiscent of water.
Thoughts on Confetti: Love the mix of combining HST's and four patch using strip sets.

My dad works for an industrial sewing machine company and he taught me how to sew when I was a teenager and bought me my first sewing machine. I began quilting a 3 years ago and fell in love with it. I love the process of cutting and reassembling the fabric into a quilt - which is a piece of art. I began pattern testing about 1 1/2 years ago. This is another joy. Pattern testing has definitely improved my sewing skills and I adore seeing others create. I most love the quilting community, support, and camaraderie.
Fabric Selections: I chose Ruby Star Society - Speckled - one of my favorites
Fabric Inspiration: I love bright, bold, and colorful.
Thoughts on Confetti: I love that there are so many ways and fabric/ color selections for this quilt to make it unique. Adding white and blacks for more checkered appearance, using one shade of color with changes in tones and hues, or a variety of colors.
This is a great, easy to follow well written pattern in multiple sizes. It comes together so quickly. It is so cheerful and fun to make.

Fabric Inspiration: I was inspired by the wonder trips and adventures my family and/or I have had on Mackinac Island.
