The Together Quilt - Christmas Edition

Its finally time to show off this version of Together !  This is the Christmas edition for 2025; four red and green pairs on a gingham background, sparkle black binding all quilted and bound with glitter thread. It turned out so nicely, and I love that it leans toward mannish even with the sparkle!  The cover photo for the Together pattern has pairs of similar colors, while this Christmas version uses complementary colors for the flying geese.  It gives the design a new and unique look.

The gingham was at first hard to work with, because if you have even worked with a true gingham before, you know how it plays with your eyes.  I thought it might look a little too country, but after sewing it up, it is nice to see that from afar, the gingham takes on a nice mid tone grey. 

This was the first quilt I have done on the domestic machine with this glitter thread.  It was so awesome and smooth to work with, and I think the thread only broke a handful of times due to user error (ummm, going too fast...just maybe!!!).  I like to speed sew, so breakage was 100% my fault.  Don't go too fast while using glitter or metallic thread!  And of course, using the correct needle helps too!   And, it's a bonus when they are gold and just lovely to look at!
